 Begin
this exciting Ketchikan tour with a scenic narrated drive en-route to the Lich
Point Lighthouse. There you will enjoy a light snack and a chance to explore the
picturesque grounds. Then it's time to gear up and get ready for an adventurous
boat ride aboard the M/V Venture.
- Take
in the beauty as you depart the dock in secluded Clover Pass. Your onboard naturalist
will describe the tales of the first discoverers to the area and what it took
to survive during these rough times.
- Learn
of the flora and fauna of the area as your boat captain whisks you across the
pristine waters of Southeast Alaska.
- Explore
an underwater treasure of sea life as the boat drops its camera down to the ocean
floor.
- Marvel
at the rock walls that climb directly up from the sea. You'll see vertical fjords
that rise above us while below the water depth is over 1,000'. Weather permitting
we can do beach landings so you can explore tide pools for star fish or beachcomb
for treasures from the sea.
- The
next portion of your journey takes you to Potlatch Park. Enter the park and learn
the history of the region's first inhabitants.
- Visit
a traditional native tribal house and view spectacular totems up close. Conclude
your visit with a stop at Alaska Totem Trading, which is a quaint gift store with
a vintage vehicle and gun museum.
- On
your return to town you will be entertained by a lively city tour while passing
by some of the cities most colorful landmarks.
 As
we enter the Clover Pass area we will visit one of the most photographed landmarks
in Ketchikan, Lich Point Light Station. We will tie up to their dock and disembark
to enjoy some real Alaska hospitality and treats. Look around in the specialty
shop for a souvenir or take photos of our resident eagles.
The
total trip is approximately 4 hours. Raingear, hats, scarves, gloves, dry bags
and binoculars are available for use on the boat. Please note that the excursion
